Back from Summer: MEDIATE Integration Work Picks Up Again

With the summer break coming to an end, MEDIATE partners are returning to a busy autumn period focused on connecting, validating, and demonstrating the project's cybersecurity framework.

Back to Work After Summer

Following the summer vacation period, technical coordination across the consortium is returning to full pace. The work now builds on the MVP integration activities highlighted in our previous update, with increasing attention on how the individual MEDIATE components operate together in realistic end-to-end scenarios.

From individual components to complete scenarios

The emphasis is gradually shifting from validating components in isolation to demonstrating coherent system behaviour: security information must move across the framework consistently, the right services must react, and operators need a clear view of what is happening.

Integration Priorities for September

Several practical integration activities are moving forward in parallel as partners refine the MVP and prepare the next round of demonstrations.

End-to-End Validation

Testing complete communication chains and resolving interface issues between connected components.

Use-Case Alignment

Linking technical components to concrete use cases and scenarios so capabilities can be demonstrated clearly.

Dashboard Refinement

Improving how integrated security events, component status, and response information are presented to operators.

Use Cases Moving Forward

A draft description for the third MEDIATE use-case scenario has now been circulated within the consortium. The next step is to refine the implementation and demonstration details, while the wider component-to-use-case mapping is consolidated across the integration work.

Why this matters

Clear scenario definitions connect the technical work to operational needs. They help ensure that each component has a visible role in the overall security workflow and that future demonstrations tell a complete, understandable story.

MVP Video on the Way

A new video presenting the MEDIATE MVP has been prepared and is currently completing final internal security clearance before publication. Once cleared, it will be shared through the project's communication channels.

What's Next

A busy September ahead

During September, the consortium will continue integration testing, scenario refinement, dashboard adjustments, and validation of cross-component message flows. These activities are intended to make the current MVP more stable, observable, and ready for increasingly realistic demonstrations.
