Introducing the MEDIATE Consortium: CNR

The National Research Council (CNR) is the largest public research institution in Italy. Founded in 1923, it consists of 88 institutes conducting research activities across various fields, ranging from the humanities to engineering sciences. The Institute of Informatics and Telematics of CNR conducts research and technological innovation in all areas of study concerning the Internet and its social and technological evolutions, from mobile and pervasive networks to the Internet of Things, from social network analysis to cybersecurity, from knowledge organization to cyber intelligence, as well as emerging technologies related to artificial intelligence, quantum computing, distributed ledgers, and blockchains. The Trust, Security, and Privacy research unit of the Institute of Informatics and Telematics in Pisa carries out research and development activities covering various aspects of cybersecurity, such as formal models for specifying and analyzing security properties, trust and reputation management, authentication and authorization techniques, privacy protection technologies, risk assessment and management, and security applications of Distributed Ledger and Blockchain technology.

In MEDIATE, CNR leads task T4.4 concerning the definition of software layer tools and services on the Cloud, and contributes to some technical tasks and to dissemination activities.
