MEDIATE at the CyberHOT Summer School

Date: May 2025
Location: Chania, Greece

As the cybersecurity community gathered for another exciting edition of the CyberHOT Summer School 2025, the MEDIATE project had the opportunity to participate and engage with a vibrant group of early-career researchers, PhD students, and cybersecurity professionals.

In the spirit of knowledge-sharing and collaboration, the MEDIATE team shared its latest project flyer, showcasing our goals, technological innovations, and use-case-driven approach to secure, trustworthy, and resilient IoT–Edge–Cloud infrastructures.

Bringing MEDIATE to the Next Generation of Cybersecurity Experts

The CyberHOT Summer School provided an excellent platform to introduce MEDIATE to a diverse audience interested in cybersecurity challenges across hardware, software, and systems integration. As a Horizon Europe-funded initiative focused on zero-trust architectures, federated learning, runtime verification, and edge computing, MEDIATE contributes directly to addressing emerging security needs in distributed computing environments.

Our flyer served as a springboard for discussions about:

  • Cybersecurity-by-design for smart logistics and supply chains

  • Trusted execution in edge devices and reconfigurable hardware (e.g., RISC-V and FPGAs)

  • Secure data orchestration across heterogeneous platforms

Fostering Dialogue and Collaboration

Engaging with attendees at CyberHOT allowed us to both raise awareness of MEDIATE’s ongoing work and receive valuable feedback from the academic and industrial research community. We are grateful to the organisers for hosting such a dynamic and forward-looking event, and we look forward to exploring potential collaborations and sharing further project results in future editions.
